Whenever I speak to people about what I do, they are always intrigued by “Eating Psychology” and how it can relate to health. So I thought I would post about this first.
What is Eating Psychology?
Often times, eating challenges and health challenges are connected to work, money issues, relationships, family, intimacy, life stress and so much more. By working on the places more relevant and personal to you, success is easily achieved. Mind Body Nutrition advances the practice of clinical nutrition by exploring the psychophysiology of how thoughts, feelings, and beliefs impact nutritional metabolism and health. It goes far beyond classic nutrition by focusing on the fascinating connections between the brain, and the body, and behavior.
Simply put, WHAT we eat is only half of the story of good nutrition. The other half is who we are as eaters. Mind Body Nutrition reveals how stress physiology, the relaxation response, breathing, awareness, pleasure, meal timing and much more, influence digestion, and calorie burning. And, it offers practical results oriented strategies for the most commonly seen health issues of our times.
Eating Psychology is an empowering and transformational approach that is designed for anyone who eats. Each one of us has a fascinating and ever changing relationship with food. Eating Psychology concerns the primary importance of this relationship. Our relationship with food often mimics our relationship with life. It also affirms that our relationship with food has important lessons to teach us if we choose to listen.
Eating Psychology is a place where we can fully explore some of the personal dimensions that impact food, weight, and various health related concerns.
What is your relationship with food like? Is it similar to your relationship with life?
